DOE Municipal Consortium to Host Annual and Regional Meetings

The DOE Municipal Solid-State Street Lighting Consortium is hosting its first Annual Meeting on September 29, 2010 in Huntington Beach, CA. This meeting is scheduled to follow the IES Street and Area Lighting Conference, to enable attendees to extend their stay and learn more about Consortium committee efforts related to developing model guidelines, launching regional education workshops, initiating the first Consortium demonstrations, and establishing interchange between related efforts and organizations.

The Consortium is also joining with the City of Los Angeles to host a Southwest Region Workshop on September 30, 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. The regional workshop will dive into topics such as deciphering manufacturer spec sheets, calculating light loss factor, understanding LM-79 and LM-80, and conducting cost-benefit analysis.

REGISTRATION FOR BOTH MEETINGS IS NOW OPEN, and all Consortium members and registered guests are welcome to attend. Note that some federal funding may allow for administration costs that can include training and travel for events like the Street and Area Lighting Conference and the Consortium meetings and workshops. Please check with your ARRA Block Grant Coordinator for further details.

Seating is limited, so register now. To learn more, to view a preliminary agenda, or to register, visit www.ssl.energy.gov/consortium.html.
