Kevin Flynn

Kevin Flynn received his Bachelors of Environmental Design from the University of Kansas and a Masters of Architecture degree from Washington University. A registered architect in over 15 states, he is Vice President of Kiku Obata & Company (St. Louis, Missouri), responsible for managing day-to-day operations and coordinating design and production of major architectural and signage projects. Recent work includes The Delmar Redevelopment District, The Regional Arts Commission, St. Louis Mills, Soulard Market, Washington Avenue Streetscape (all located in St. Louis, Missouri), and Madrid Xanadu (Madrid, Spain). From 1986-1995, he was Director of Design and Vice President of Interior Space, Inc. (now called Arcturis), St. Louis, Missouri, as Designer for Michael Fox and Associates, and as Lighting Designer/Technical Director for the Edison Theatre (Washington University). Kevin is the recipient of a number of IIDA awards as well as awards from the AIA.

He served as President of the St. Louis Section (1999-2000). He served as Regional Vice President for the Midwest Region (2000-2003), RVP Director (2002-2003), Director (2003-2005), Senior Vice President (2005-2006), President (2006-2007), and Immediate Past President (2007-2008).

Kevin has served as a member of the IIDA, College and University Liaison and Conference Committees; he chaired the IES Centennial Committee.

He is a recipient of an IES Presidential Award (2003), a Regional Service Award from the Midwest Region (2005) and a Section Meritious Award from the St. Louis Section (2003). He is a member of the AIA. He is active in coalitions and groups committed to a carbon neutral environment; he represents the IES on a number of such committees.
