Gravity, an EV fast-charging startup, has announced it will build out a network of eight sites across greater Los Angeles with the fastest EV charging solution in the country.
The 500kW sites are expected to open this year and will be located in Pacific Palisades, Long Beach, Manhattan Beach, East Pasadena, and other “high-speed charging deserts.”
The five-minute charging sites will be equipped with approximately 12 500kW Distributed Energy Access Points (DEAPs), which are nearly twice the speed of Tesla Superchargers. They debuted in New York City in 2024 and have continued to break records with the fastest-ever charging speeds that span all vehicle makes and models.
Gravity’s technology has 100% site uptime and industry-leading utilization rates approaching 50%.
The sites are being developed through an agreement with a national corporate partner that has plans to expand to hundreds of additional sites throughout the U.S.
“These new 500kW sites are going to be a game-changer for Los Angelenos. They will be far faster and more reliable than anything drivers and fleet operators have experienced, with autonomous vehicle engineering and vehicle-to-grid equipment that will make them the most advanced sites in the nation,” said Moshe Cohen, Founder and CEO of Gravity. Inc, in a statement. “Now that we’ve validated the superior reliability and performance of our technology, we are focused on blanketing several of the country’s most important urban markets–and we are delighted to begin our LA expansion.”
