PVFARM has launched the commercial version of RE PILOT, a project optimization platform designed to help developers, EPCs, and storage specialists evaluate thousands of utility-scale solar and co-located solar-plus-storage configurations within a single workflow.
The platform simultaneously tests layout, storage sizing, and placement against energy production, project economics, and grid constraints, allowing project teams to explore a wide range of configurations before moving into detailed engineering.
Key capabilities include utility-scale solar and co-located storage design, layout and storage sizing optimization, energy production and economics modeling, and grid constraint and point-of-interconnection analysis.
“Early in a solar or solar + storage project, teams need to identify the best direction for several key parameters such as system configuration, equipment selection, and site conditions,” said Cam Connolly, Design Manager, McCarthy Building Companies, in a statement. “Using RE PILOT, we are able to rapidly evaluate this wide range of alternatives and identify promising concepts aligned with the client’s priorities that can be carried into PVFARM for deeper, multidisciplinary engineering and validation.
RE PILOT joins PVFARM and RE STACK as part of an expanding suite of tools for utility-scale renewable energy design.
The platform was shaped by more than 150 hours of conversations with specialists across 60 organizations, and beta testing in collaboration with more than 80 companies helped surface the real-world design considerations project teams navigate daily.
