2026 Solar Games Competitor Resource Center
Welcome to the 2026 Solar Games
This page will be a living resource for you and your team for the 2026 Solar Games. Updates and additional information will be posted here as they become available, so check back often! If you have any questions, contact Shannon Twombly.
The 2026 Solar Games will take place February 18-20 in the San Diego Convention Center. A total of six teams will be competing for the title of Solar Games Champion and $10,000. We will also be awarding 2nd and 3rd place teams, with $3,500 and $2,500 prizes, respectively.
Additional prizes to be awarded:
- 8 passes to the annual NABCEP conference to be given to final round participants (1st and 2nd place teams).
The tournament will consist of six total matchups. The top four scoring teams in Round 1 will advance to the Semi-Finals. The top two scoring teams in the Semi-Finals will advance to the Championship Round. The winners will be determined by a rigorous scoring system that assigns points based on categories such as safety, technical accuracy, speed, and more.

BOOKING YOUR HOTEL
If you have not booked your hotel room yet, please do so through our official partner, OnPeak, using the button below
PICKING UP YOUR BADGE
You will be able to pick up your badge during registration hours on the 17th or the morning of the 18th. While not actively competing, you are free to check out the exhibit hall and attend any sessions taking place there.
TRAVEL STIPEND AND DEPOSIT REFUND
Your team is eligible to receive up to $2,500 to help with travel and lodging expenses with proof of receipts. We will reach out after the event to collect the necessary paperwork.
The $1000 refundable deposit shall be issued if all members of the team arrive ready to compete at the Exhibit Hall on February 18, 2026.
Both the travel stipend and deposit refund will be issued within 30 days after the event.
