Longroad Energy announced the financial close and commencement of construction of its 400 MWdc (300 MWac) solar project, 1000 Mile Solar, in Yoakum County, Texas.Ā
The renewable energy developer, owner, and operator finalized a long-term offtake agreement with Meta in the form of an Environmental Attributes Purchase Agreement in late 2024. It includes a financial settlement agreement for 1000 Mileās entire energy output, which will be delivered to the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) grid. Ā
The project is Longroadās fifth solar facility in the Lone Star State and will utilize First Solarās domestically manufactured Series 7 modules. All five facilitiesĀ include First Solarās PV technology.Ā
Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services will be performed by SOLV, with the contractor expecting to employ over 400 workers during peak construction.Ā
