DeCharge Launches U.S. Community-Powered EV Charging Network

Decentralized EV charging infrastructure network DeCharge announced its official U.S. launch, where it will offer its community-powered charging model.

DeCharge provides the ability to host EV chargers and earn revenue to anyone, from small business owners to parking lot operators, as a way to combat the ongoing shortage of public charging infrastructure. Hosts determine the pricing for drivers to use DeCharge’s flagship Beast 7.4 kW chargers.

The company recently raised $2.5 million in seed funding to build an autonomous EV charging network, which utilizes a decentralized, AI-powered energy model.

DeCharge’s U.S. rollout will begin with pilot deployments in the Washington, D.C.-Maryland-Virginia metropolitan area, New York, and California. The company plans to onboard over 1,000 hosts across 10 states over the next 12 months.

“EV adoption is skyrocketing across the US, but infrastructure hasn’t kept pace. Our vision is to decentralize energy access and create an open network where anyone can earn by powering the future of mobility,” said Mohan Kuldeep Ponnada, Founder and CEO of DeCharge, in a statement. “The U.S. launch marks our commitment to accelerating EV infrastructure growth through community and commercial partnerships in high-demand regions like the DMV area and high-usage areas in California.”
