NeoVolta Inc. announced the formation of NeoVolta Power, LLC, a joint venture to establish a U.S. battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing platform in Pendergrass, Georgia.
The initiative is intended to serve utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) energy storage markets while expanding the company’s domestic manufacturing footprint.
The joint venture brings together three energy technology leaders: NeoVolta, PotisEdge, and LONGi Green Energy.
PotisEdge, a globally recognized BESS manufacturer now part of LONGi, holds a 20% stake in the joint venture and contributes expertise in large-scale battery manufacturing, including equipment installation, commissioning, and production ramp support. LONGi, a global leader in solar manufacturing and majority owner of PotisEdge, brings scale, execution discipline, and strategic alignment across solar and storage markets.
The Georgia facility is designed for an initial 2 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of annual production capacity, scalable to 8 GWh, with mass production expected to begin in mid-2026. It will focus on prismatic-cell battery pack assembly and DC container integration, supporting roughly 89 production personnel at steady-state initial capacity.
NeoVolta said the platform materially expands its addressable market and growth potential in the U.S. energy storage sector. Industry analyses indicate that utility-scale and C&I battery systems can generate roughly $200 per kilowatt-hour of installed capacity; broader forecasts project that the U.S. battery storage market, covering utility-scale, residential, and C&I applications, could reach approximately $45 billion annually by 2030.
“This transformative joint venture with PotisEdge and LONGi represents a major step forward for NeoVolta, positioning us as a vertically integrated leader in the fast-growing energy storage sector,” said Ardes Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of NeoVolta, in a statement. “By launching domestic BESS manufacturing, we’re directly addressing surging demand in utility-scale and C&I markets, enabling scalable, reliable solutions for grid stability, peak load management, and high-growth applications.”
