RWE is expanding its footprint in the United States, with close to 4 gigawatts (3,875 gigawatts) of onshore wind, solar, and battery storage projects currently under construction.
RWE is committed to bolstering domestic energy infrastructure and providing energy security by progressing forward with ‘critical’ energy projects across the country.
The company’s projects created over 5,000 jobs last year alone. RWE works closely with locally sourced labor on its construction projects and supports apprenticeship programs to provide lifelong skills and career pathways.
Onsite construction has commenced for 29 projects totaling 3.9 gigawatts across 11 states.
“As demand for electricity grows, RWE is prepared to meet the moment through our investments to expand our U.S. generating portfolio and bring more homegrown energy to market,” said Andrew Flanagan, CEO of RWE Clean Energy, in a statement. “The nearly 4 GW of projects currently under construction will add cost-competitive and reliable electricity supply in regions across the country furthering America’s energy independence as part of an all-of-the-above strategy, while simultaneously delivering substantial benefits to local and rural communities through job creation, tax revenues and local investments.”
