Andrea Oyuela

Andrea Oyuela

Andrea Oyuela’s career has spanned architectural practice, non-profit management, and program delivery with several UN agencies. With a master’s degree in urban environmental management from Wageningen University, Andrea’s expertise as an urban planner has seen her supporting local governments across Latin America, Europe, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Currently, Andrea manages the Solar for All program with Harris County, focusing on expanding solar energy access to underserved communities across the country’s third-largest county.

Originally from Honduras, Andrea’s international experience has given her a unique perspective on the diverse challenges of food, energy and social services, that cities face around the globe. In Kenya, Andrea led UN-Habitat’s flagship Urban and Territorial Planning Guidelines, working with cities to advocate for improved planning and more inclusive development. In Norway, Andrea managed the cities portfolio at EAT, focusing on how cities could improve food systems across the food-energy nexus. With the World Food Program, in Rome, Andrea led the urban strategy development for the agency, ensuring equitable approaches to urban development through food, energy, and humanitarian aid.
