Charge Rigs has launched Install Planner, a cloud-based platform that allows electrical contractors to design EV charging installations, generate quotes, manage customer approvals, and coordinate field operations all within a single system.
The platform is built around an interactive drag-and-drop canvas designer that lets contractors lay out site plans using a library of more than 183 pre-loaded EV components, including Level 2 and Level 3 chargers, transformers, and panels. A live cost engine calculates project pricing in real time, and one-click PDF generation produces branded, itemized proposals for client presentation.
Install Planner also features an AI-powered design advisor that evaluates installations against National Electrical Code (NEC) standards, providing a real-time quality score and flagging potential compliance issues before permit submission.
“Our contractors were spending two to four hours assembling a single quote using spreadsheets and generic drawing tools,” said the Charge Rigs development team, in a statement. “Install Planner compresses that entire cycle into under 30 minutes, and the output is a polished, professional proposal that inspires client confidence.”
A mobile-optimized field operations module gives installation crews access to site plans, task checklists, photo documentation tools, and auto-generated material lists derived from the approved design.
During its early access period, contractors on the platform collectively designed more than 2,500 installations and generated over $12 million in professional quotes, with some firms reporting close rate improvements of up to 40%.
Install Planner is available now with a 14-day free trial.
