India’s Largest PV Module Manufacturer Scales Up Production at Texas Facility

Waaree Energies Ltd., India’s largest solar module manufacturer, announced plans to double its production capacity at its Brookshire factory in Texas by adding a new unit that will allow the company to create 3.2 GW of modules annually.

According to Renewables Now, plans for the new 1.6 GW unit were recently approved by the company’s board.

The additional production capacity will be integrated into Waaree’s established U.S. operations and will be under development as the company seeks to de-risk its global footprint and localize production.

The company launched commercial production at the Brookshire facility in early 2025 and has plans to scale up the site’s capacity to reach 5 GW by 2027.

“The strength of our U.S. orderbook is a testament to the trust we’ve built, and this expansion is a signal – we’re here, we’re growing, and we’re deeply invested in powering America’s energy future,” said Amit Paithankar, CEO of Waaree Energies.

Waaree operates manufacturing facilities with an installed capacity of approximately 15 GW for solar modules globally, with the majority located in India.
