DC fast-charging network Ionna has officially opened its first location in California, marking an important milestone in its nationwide network expansion.
Ionna is a joint venture between BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota.
Located in Vista, Ionna’s Rechargery Relay charging station offers ten 400 kW charging stalls. Four are equipped with NACS / SAE J3400 connectors and six with CCS1 connectors; amenities include a restaurant and restroom.
There are nearly 30 Ionna Rechargeries currently installed throughout the U.S. with more than 280 individual DC fast-charging stalls. According to EVChargingStations.com, Ionna’s network is entering more states with the goal of deploying 30,000 stalls by 2030.
With thousands already contracted, the number of operational stalls is expected to reach 1,000 over the next several months. There are currently more than 20 sites in permit in California alone.
