Mohammed Njie is the Founder and CEO of Janta Power, a clean energy technology company pioneering the world’s first patented 3D solar towers. Originally from Gambia, where he experienced energy poverty firsthand, Mohammed developed a passion for building accessible energy solutions. While studying at Southern Methodist University (SMU), he partnered with the university to deliver solar systems to off-grid schools in Gambia, an experience that exposed the limitations of traditional solar and inspired Janta Power’s vertical solar innovation.
Mohammed has led Janta from prototype development to grid-connected pilots and early commercialization. Under his leadership, the company has secured major international pilot projects across airports, telecoms, and industrial sectors. Mohammed’s vision is to make clean, affordable, and space-efficient renewable energy accessible everywhere.
