Hyper-Fast charging network Electrify America and global retail real estate leader Simon® recently celebrated their ongoing collaboration to expand EV charging access at Simon properties.
Since they first partnered in 2018, they have successfully integrated EV charging with shopping, dining, and entertainment venues, allowing drivers to charge while making the most of their visit.
The Electrify America and Simon alliance has delivered more than 500 individual Hyper-Fast chargers across 105 stations in 27 states and two Canadian provinces; dispensed over 189 gigawatt-hours of energy; and powered more than 549 million EV miles.
“Surpassing 500 Hyper-Fast chargers across 105 stations at Simon properties is a significant milestone,” said Anthony Lambkin, vice president of operations at Electrify America, in a statement. “By placing Hyper-Fast charging at premier retail destinations, we’re making it easier for EV drivers to charge where life happens while supporting the transition to electric mobility.”
Most recently, they built out a large-format charging station with 20 Hyper-Fast chargers at Simon’s Fashion Valley in San Diego, California. The chargers are capable of speeds up to 350 kilowatts (kW), providing compatible vehicles with charge in as little as 20 minutes.
Electrify America’s mobile app makes EV charging seamless for divers by letting them locate chargers, view pricing, initiate sessions, and monitor progress. All stations support Plug & Charge technology for compatible vehicles, allowing drivers to simply plug in to start a charging session without needing to pull out their phone or a card.
