Everged Launches Zero Cost Swap Program to Replace Outdated EV Charging Equipment

Everged has launched its Zero Cost Swap Program, a turnkey solution designed to help property owners and site hosts replace broken, outdated, or unsupported EV charging stations with modern, networked equipment at zero upfront cost.

The program addresses a growing problem in the EV charging industry, as first-generation chargers reach end-of-life and several major industry players have exited the market, leaving site hosts and drivers without reliable solutions.

Unreliable charging experiences are frequently cited as a major hurdle to broader EV adoption, and accountability for charger performance has historically been difficult to establish given the number of stakeholders involved.

Through the program, Everged fully funds the removal, replacement, installation, activation, and ongoing maintenance of new Level 2 or DC fast charging equipment. Site hosts gain access to 24/7 monitoring, real-time alerts, remote diagnostics, and optional revenue-sharing opportunities to generate passive income.

Because new equipment is installed using existing electrical infrastructure, the process often does not require new permitting, allowing site hosts to restore service quickly.

“We created the Zero Cost Swap Program because it is simply unacceptable that site hosts who were innovative enough to be early adopters of EV charging infrastructure are now abandoned to navigate solutions to restore functionality,” said Jefferson Smith, chief executive officer at Everged, in a statement. “We owe them and our EV drivers a better experience.”

The program is designed for retail and commercial property owners, municipalities, fleet operators, campuses, hotels, and public venues seeking dependable charging infrastructure.
