 1. AES, Meta Sign PPAs for 650 MW of Solar in SPP Market

AES announced it entered into two long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to bring 650 MW of solar projects online in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) market that will support Meta’s data centers.

 

2. LG Energy Solution Launches First U.S. LFP Battery Facility

LG Energy Solution has opened a 1.7-million-square-foot facility in Holland, Michigan to produce LFP batteries for large-scale energy storage—the first of its kind in the United States. Production began in May, marking a major step in domestic battery manufacturing.

 

3. Estuary Power Builds Lincoln County’s First Utility-Scale Solar+Storage Facility

Estuary Power has secured $340 million to build the Escape Solar project, combining 185 MW of solar with 400 MWh of storage. It will supply long-term clean power to major customers like MGM Resorts, Caesars, and Wynn, and generate $80 million in local tax revenue.

 

 4. Michigan’s First Utility-Scale BESS Now Operational

Jupiter Power and Consumers Energy have opened the Tibbits Energy Storage Facility, a 100 MW, four-hour battery system in Coldwater Township. The project, Michigan’s first of its size, marks the start of several large-scale storage projects planned for the state.

 

 5. T1 Energy and Corning Forge U.S. Solar Supply Chain Agreement 

T1 Energy has struck a landmark deal with Corning Inc. to source hyper-pure silicon and solar wafers for its upcoming G2_Austin cell facility, with production slated to begin in 2026. The agreement strengthens a fully domestic supply chain that spans Texas and Michigan.

 

 6. Ionna Opens First EV Fast-Charging Site in California 

Ionna, the EV fast-charging joint venture backed by eight major automakers, has opened its first California station in Vista with ten 400 kW stalls. The company plans to scale rapidly, targeting 30,000 stalls nationwide by 2030.

 

 7. Redwood Projects Portfolio Reaches Completion with San Jacinto Facility 

Fullmark Energy has brought the San Jacinto storage project online, completing its Redwood Projects portfolio. With a total of 125 MW/290 MWh of operational capacity across Southern California, it ranks among the largest independently owned storage networks in the region.

 

 8. San Diego Expands Access to Solar Battery Savings 

San Diego Community Power has launched its Solar Battery Savings program to make solar+storage more affordable. Building on a successful pilot, it will offer rebates, incentives, and education to expand grid resilience and equitable clean energy access.

 

 9. Synderys Partners with U.S. BESS Corp to Secure Energy Storage Systems 

Synderys LLC is partnering with U.S. BESS Corp to embed military-grade cybersecurity into its battery storage products. The deal includes real-time hardware protection, forensic analytics, and physical safeguards, as well as a new testing center in San Diego.

 

 10. Illinois Launches CEJA EV Charging Grant Program

The Illinois EPA has released a Notice of Funding Opportunity to expand the state’s EV charging network through Level 2 and Level 3 installations. The program will fund projects on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to equitable and underserved areas.
