Altus Power Delivers Turnkey Solar Solution at California Industrial Center

Altus Power has completed a rooftop solar installation at San Manuel Landing, a 1.1 million square foot industrial logistics center in San Bernardino, California, delivering clean electricity directly to global logistics company Flexport under a long-term agreement.

The project was originated with developer Trammell Crow Company and developed in partnership with the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, who owns the building’s roof.

The system will lower Flexport’s total energy costs at the facility with no upfront capital investment required.

“In a time of rising energy prices, this project demonstrates how Altus Power and its solar energy solutions can deliver low-cost electricity to businesses with no requirement for the customer to own or maintain the system,” said Brett Phillips, director of investment and structured finance at Altus Power, in a statement. “By working with Trammell Crow Company and the Yuhaaviatam of San Manuel Nation, Altus Power delivered a turnkey solution that generates immediate energy savings without Flexport incurring upfront capital investment.”

Flexport, the global logistics company and tenant of the property, sees the project as a key step in its broader sustainability goals. “At San Manuel Landing, we’re merging efficiency with sustainability,” said Cody Moreland, senior director of fulfillment operations at Flexport. “This solar system allows us to lower electricity costs while making tangible progress on our commitment to decarbonize our footprint across our global network.”

The completion adds to Altus Power’s California footprint of more than 154 megawatts (MW) across nearly 100 projects.

The company’s portfolio spans 30 states and the District of Columbia, serving enterprises looking to reduce operating costs and protect against energy price volatility.
