Origis Energy has commenced commercial operations at three additional phases of its Rockhound Solar complex in Ector County, Texas.
Together, they’re adding approximately 500 megawatts (MWdc) of solar capacity and bringing the site’s total operating capacity to nearly 1 gigawatt (GWdc).
The Rockhound complex has been designed to supply energy to major industrial and corporate customers, with long-term agreements already signed with Meta, Occidental, DSM-Firmenich, and Bekaert.
The next stage of development will add approximately 1 GW of additional solar generation and energy storage capacity, which Origis is making available for data center co-location and long-term corporate power agreements. Upon completion, the company expects the site to surpass 2 GW of combined solar and storage capacity by 2029.
In March 2026, Origis secured approximately $545 million in senior secured project financing to support three utility-scale solar developments in Ector County.
