Partners Celebrate Progress on 48.4 MW New Mexico Community Solar Portfolio

Pluma Construction, ForeFront Power, Standard Solar, and Solstice gathered at the Pino community solar site in Las Vegas, New Mexico on May 13 to celebrate progress across an eight-project, 48.4 megawatt (MW) community solar portfolio — one of the state’s earliest of its kind.

Developed by New Mexico-based Pluma Construction with support from ForeFront Power, the portfolio was acquired by Standard Solar for long-term ownership and operation, with Solstice leading subscriber acquisition.

Seven of the eight projects are now complete, with the final project, Otero, expected to reach completion by the end of 2026. Once fully operational, the portfolio is expected to generate approximately 103,287 megawatt-hours (MWh) in its first year across sites in Las Vegas, Clovis, Las Cruces, Lordsburg, Silver City, and Alamogordo.

All eight projects utilize single-axis tracker systems and are sited across both State Land Trust and privately owned land.

The portfolio is designed to expand access to clean energy and electric bill savings for households across New Mexico through a subscriber-based model with no upfront cost or installation required.
