Enbridge Announces 600 MW Texas Solar Farm to Support Meta Platforms

Enbridge Inc. has reached a final investment decision on its 600 MW Texas solar project, Clear Fork.

Construction of the utility-scale solar facility is currently underway, near San Antonio. It is expected to become operational during summer 2027.

Meta signed a long-term contract for 100% of the renewable energy generated by Clear Fork. According to Electrek, the project’s projected cost is $0.9 billion, and it is estimated to be accretive to cash flow and earnings in 2027.

“We are thrilled to partner with Enbridge to bring new renewable energy to Texas and help support our operations with 100% clean energy,” said Urvi Parekh, Head of Global Energy, Meta.

Enbridge launched its first Texas solar farm, the Orange Grove Solar project, just last month. Located in Jim Wells County, it now sends up to 130 MW of energy to ERCOT’s grid, which is enough power for approximately 24,000 homes. It is comprised of around 300,000 solar panels spanning 920 acres of land.
