Stardust Power Expands to Houston as Muskogee Refinery Project Advances

Stardust Power, an American developer of battery-grade lithium carbonate, has opened a new operational office in Houston, Texas.

The office will serve as a project execution hub supporting operations planning as the company advances its planned lithium refinery in Muskogee, Oklahoma.

The company chose Houston for its concentration of engineering expertise, access to engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) and procurement talent, and established energy infrastructure.

Stardust Power expects to grow its Houston-based team as project execution picks up and the Muskogee refinery reaches new milestones. The city’s proximity to Oklahoma is also expected to help with coordination and on-the-ground work.

“By building out a dedicated project management hub in one of the most experienced energy markets in the world, we are positioning the Company for execution as we advance the Muskogee refinery,” said Chris Celano, Chief Operating Officer of Stardust Power, in a statement. “This expansion reflects our commitment to deliver domestic, battery-grade lithium that supports U.S. energy security and industrial growth.”

The expansion supports Stardust Power’s goal of building a resilient domestic battery materials supply chain.

As the U.S. pushes ahead with energy transition initiatives and industrial reshoring, the company says its growing presence supports a longer-term plan to establish scalable U.S.-based lithium refining capacity and reduce reliance on foreign sources.
