US Power, a California-based solar installer, has announced it is operating as a Factory Direct Representative of Qcells, connecting homeowners across the state to U.S.-assembled solar panels without additional distributor costs built into the price.
The arrangement allows US Power to source panels directly from Qcells rather than through a chain of resellers, which the company says results in shorter delivery times, tighter quality oversight, and more competitive pricing for homeowners.
Panels come backed by manufacturer warranties designed to last 25 years or more.
The partnership draws on Qcells’ growing U.S. manufacturing presence, which includes two facilities in Georgia — one in Dalton and one in Cartersville — with a combined expected annual module capacity of approximately 8.6 gigawatts (GW).
“Homeowners are asking more specific questions than they used to — where the panels are made, who backs the warranty, what happens if a company goes out of business,” said Erik Sords, Senior Energy Consultant, US Power, in a statement. “Being able to point to a direct relationship with a manufacturer that’s investing billions of dollars in U.S. factories gives people a level of confidence that a reseller relationship just doesn’t offer.”
The Cartersville plant is the first U.S. factory designed to produce ingots, wafers, cells, and finished modules under a single roof.
US Power has completed more than 500 installations across the Los Angeles area and surrounding communities and has recently extended the factory-direct model into Texas, Florida, and Illinois.
