For years, distributed energy resources like rooftop solar, home batteries, and EVs were treated as bill-savings tools. With FERC Order 2222 landing across the ISOs and a wave of state VPP mandates, that has all changed. Aggregated distributed assets now count as capacity, can enter wholesale markets, and get dispatched like a power plant. Today, the question isn’t whether these resources belong on the grid, but who can turn scattered assets into firm, dispatchable capacity that is appropriately valued and compensated.
This session brings together the players making that conversion real. With utilities across ERCOT, PJM, and CAISO already running these programs, attendees leave knowing what separates a connected device from a dispatchable asset, and what to position for as Order 2222 and state mandates reshape the market.
