Bria Shea is president of Xcel Energy – Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota, which supplies electricity to 1.5 million electric customers and natural gas service to 600,000 customers across 600 communities. Shea is responsible for the strategic planning, financial results and operational outcomes for the three states, leading teams focused on customer, community, regulatory, legislative and governmental relationships.
Shea previously served as Xcel Energy’s regional vice president, Planning and Policy, where she oversaw government affairs and regulatory strategy for resource, transmission and distribution planning for the company’s energy systems across the Upper Midwest. Since joining Xcel Energy in 2008, she has held numerous leadership roles within the company.
She is active in the Twin Cities community and currently serves on the board of directors for St. Paul Downtown Alliance and Jobs for Minnesotans and has held previous board positions with the Minneapolis Clean Energy Partnership, Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce, and YWCA Minneapolis. Shea earned a Bachelor of Arts from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, and a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.
