Hala Ballouz

Hala N. Ballouz is the Founder, Board Chair, and Chief Vision Officer of Electric Power Engineers (EPE), a premier power systems advisory firm with more than 500 professionals advancing grid modernization and the global energy transition. A trailblazer in the electric utility space, Hala is recognized for her expertise in integrated transmission and distribution planning, renewable energy integration, and advanced grid technologies. 

 

For nearly two decades as CEO, she built EPE into a trusted partner for utilities, regulators, and energy resource developers tackling the most complex challenges of the evolving grid. She also founded ENER-I.AI, a platform digitizing and transforming the energy sector through intelligent innovation. 

 

Today, Hala drives EPE’s long-term vision and innovation agenda, serving as a global advisor, industry visionary, and champion for rearchitecting a more resilient, sustainable, and flexible power grid. She champions cross-sector collaboration to address energy transition challenges and convenes industry leaders, regulatory roundtables, and academic forums globally. 

 

The first female president of the Texas Renewable Energy Industries Association, Hala launched GridNEXT, the first industry platform dedicated to advancing clean energy integration through grid modernization. A licensed Professional Engineer, she earned both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University. She has been honored with numerous awards, including Ernst & Young 2025 Entrepreneur of the Year (Gulf South Region), the 2025 Eminent ECE Graduate Award from Texas A&M University, and the 2020 Woman in Power Award.
