Johanna Kraus-Darden

Johanna Kraus-Darden is the Director of Development at AES for the MISO region, where she manages a 2GW portfolio and leads a team of utility-scale project developers from interconnection filing through construction. Additionally, Johanna has experience as a project developer in the WECC region, where she led a portfolio of solar projects in Utah. Over the past decade, Johanna has built a diverse career in renewable energy, spanning residential solar business development, nationwide solar financing solutions, and, most recently, non-profit community solar and distributed generation project development at Grid Alternatives in Washington, D.C.
Before entering the solar industry, Johanna worked as a political campaign manager in Texas and on U.S. Senate and Congressional races. Her experience in these policy and community organizing roles has significantly shaped her skills in strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, providing her with a unique perspective to navigate regional dynamics and drive impactful solar projects across the United States.
