Samarth leads Advanced Energy United’s legislative campaigns in Illinois and Michigan. He participated in efforts to pass Michigan’s 2023 Clean Energy Jobs Act and Illinois’ 2026 Clean and Reliable Grid Affordability Act, including distributed generation or virtual power plant-related elements of those laws. Samarth previously worked with the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, supporting energy efficiency policy education with a focus on programs to reduce energy burden. He currently serves on the Illinois Commission on Environmental Justice.
