Shannon Anderson is Solar United Neighbors’ Distributed Power Plant Policy Director. In this role, Shannon directs SUN’s policy and advocacy work to advance Distributed Power Plants (DPPs, also known as VPPs) across the country, providing technical and policy recommendations to utility regulators and lawmakers in multiple states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia to help ensure Distributed Power Plant program success. Prior to SUN, Shannon worked as a Staff Attorney and Organizing Director for Powder River Basin Resource Council, where she represented the organization in numerous Wyoming Public Service Commission proceedings, in other state and federal administrative agency proceedings focused on energy and natural resource issues, and also before state and federal courts. She also served as the organization’s main lobbyist, representing the organization before legislative committees and directly lobbying during legislative sessions. Shannon works from a solar-powered home office in her hometown of Sheridan, Wyoming.
