ChargePoint has partnered with Dabaja Brothers Development Group to launch a new ultra-fast EV charging site in Canton, Michigan, marking the first in a broader effort to address the lack of fast charging options across metro Detroit.
The Canton location serves as the initial hub in a planned network that will expand to Dabaja Brothers–owned properties in Dearborn, Livonia, and other high-traffic areas.
The new site features ChargePoint’s Express Plus fast-charging technology, designed to support every EV model on the market with high-performance, sustained charging speeds. Dabaja Brothers plans to deploy more than 40 fast-charging ports across its portfolio, giving drivers the ability to charge while shopping, dining, or accessing nearby services.
“ChargePoint’s collaboration with Dabaja is further evidence of our commitment to deliver tailored solutions that meet the charging needs of any site host and driver,” said Rick Wilmer, CEO at ChargePoint, in a statement. “This initiative will rapidly infill the ‘fast charging deserts’ across the Detroit area, allowing drivers to quickly recharge their vehicles when and where they need to.”
All sites in the rollout will be managed through the ChargePoint Platform, the company’s next-generation software solution that gives operators real-time performance data, pricing controls, and customer service tools.
The Canton site marks the beginning of a larger regional buildout aimed at modernizing EV infrastructure across metro Detroit and making fast charging more accessible to everyday drivers.
