FranklinWH Joins Two Arizona Battery Storage Incentive Programs

FranklinWH has established itself as the first residential energy storage manufacturer to secure participation in both the Salt River Project Battery Partner Program and the Arizona Public Service Storage Rewards Pilot.

Through its strategic collaboration with EnergyHub, Arizona homeowners equipped with FranklinWH systems can now capture financial incentives for bolstering grid demand management during peak consumption periods while preserving uninterrupted backup power during service disruptions.

FranklinWH is the first residential energy storage manufacturer to participate in both programs.

“When outages happen in Arizona, especially during the summer, the impact can be immediate and serious,” said Justin Hopkins, senior director of strategic accounts at FranklinWH, in a statement. “These programs give homeowners a way to stay powered, reduce their bills, and support grid reliability at the same time.”

Arizona’s electricity demand continues to grow, in part due to data centers and other high-use facilities. As a result, utilities are now turning to homeowners with battery energy storage systems to boost the grid when necessary.

Virtual power plant (VPP) programs enable utilities to draw energy from participating batteries during periods of high demand, helping to stabilize the grid while compensating homeowners for their contributed energy.

Arizona households can qualify for the VPP incentives by leasing a FranklinWH battery storage system through Palmetto’s LightReach financing program.
