rPlus Energies Surpasses 1 GW Idaho Portfolio with Two Major Solar Milestones

rPlus Energies has announced two significant milestones in Idaho, with the commissioning of the 125-megawatt (MWac) Pleasant Valley Solar 2 project in Ada County and the start of construction at the 400-MWac Blacks Creek Energy Center, also in Ada County.

Together, the two projects represent more than $750 million in combined investment.

The developments bring rPlus Energies’ total Idaho portfolio of operational, under-construction, and contracted projects to more than 1 gigawatt (GW) of solar and energy storage capacity.

In March 2026, the company secured more than $650 million in debt and tax equity financing commitments to support construction of the Blacks Creek Energy Center.

“Pleasant Valley Solar 2 and Blacks Creek Energy Center are critical for supporting Idaho’s continued economic growth and we envision this development as the next chapter in our long-term investment and commitment to the state,” said rPlus Energies president and CEO Luigi Resta, in a statement.

Both projects will create hundreds of construction jobs and permanent positions upon completion, and revenue from the developments will contribute to local and state coffers through Idaho’s 3.5% solar energy tax on gross earnings.

They are being developed in partnership with Idaho Power, which will utilize the energy to serve its customers across the region.
