Proper operations and maintenance (O&M) is critical to realizing operational goals and protecting asset value of solar and storage systems, but execution can be challenging Budgets are tight and it can be difficult to make time for preventative maintenance when there are often plenty of literal and figurative “fires” that demand immediate attention. This three-hour course aims to address three hot topics in O&M, spanning the gamut of programmatic, preventative, and reactive activities:
1. How to implement an efficient, effective, and safe framework for O&M based on NFPA 70B, the Standard for Electrical Equipment Maintenance, along with manufacturer guidelines and other relevant industry standards.
2. The practical use of infrared thermography as a primary “go-to” procedure for preventative and reactive maintenance.
3. A detailed procedure for troubleshooting ground-faults on PV systems to get them back online and operating safely.
Attendees will be eligible for 3 NABCEP CEUs
