Rebekah Hren is a licensed unlimited electrical contractor and NABCEP-certified PV Installation Professional with over twenty years of experience working in the solar and energy storage industries. Rebekah has been a principal voting member of NEC® Code-Making Panel 4 representing Solar Energy International since the 2020 cycle, and was a Task Group Chair during the 2023 and 2026 cycles. She is also a technical committee member for NFPA 800, UL 3741, UL 9540, and UL 2703. Rebekah has co-authored two books on renewable energy, and has presented workshops at dozens of industry conferences around the world. In 2023 she was awarded the American Solar Energy Society Claudia Hansen Wentworth Award for Code Development, Innovation, and Training.
Since 2007 Rebekah has enjoyed teaching electricians, engineers, and code officials throughout the United States about code-compliant system design and installation, both online and in person. From 2019 to 2022 she worked as hardware engineer for an experimental product development team at Airbnb. Prior to that she was a system designer and consultant, focusing on large-scale ground-mounted PV systems. Rebekah is currently a senior consultant and co-founder at Solar Tech Collective.
