Alyssa Martin

Alyssa is President of Nelnet Renewable Energy, a Midwest-based solar EPC company that focuses on commercial and utility-scale projects. At Nelnet she leads a team of about 100 people dedicated to fostering innovation and excellence in execution across the solar project lifecycle. Alyssa’s experience includes structuring and closing transactions in the renewable energy space (including tax equity transactions, acquisitions, and joint ventures), advising startups and Fortune 500 companies on complex corporate matters, and clerking for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Alyssa has also served in public roles at the federal and local level, as she was part of the founding team at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and served as Policy Aide to the Mayor of Lincoln, Nebraska, where she helped direct major city initiatives, from resiliency to energy policy to economic recovery. She holds a J.D. with honors from Harvard Law School and a B.A. with honors and distinction in International Relations from Stanford University.
