Claire Broido Johnson is the President and Co-founder of Sunrock Distributed Generation and a veteran climate tech entrepreneur. A SunEdison co-founder and former DOE advisor, she has 30 years of experience scaling solar and clean energy platforms, driving innovation in project finance, and expanding access to distributed energy for diverse organizations. She also oversaw the deployment of $11 billion in Recovery Act funds to scale renewable energy and energy efficiency programs throughout the United States while at the Department of Energy under the Obama Administration. She also was the Managing Director of the University System of Maryland Momentum Fund, where she invested in 32 start-ups in less than 3 years. A bottom-line focused innovator, Claire is a Key Advisor for CityRock Ventures, and an Advisory Board member of Powerhouse Ventures and Kanin Energy. Claire earned a B.A. in environmental science and public policy from Harvard College, where she helped to create that major, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
