Patty O’Keefe is the Midwest Regional Director at Vote Solar, where she works to protect and expand local solar at the state level. With over a decade of experience in community organizing and campaign management within the climate justice movement, Patty has led impactful legislative and public-facing campaigns for solar policy in Minnesota and Michigan.
Prior to joining Vote Solar, Patty built a statewide campaign at the Sierra Club to transition from fossil gas to electrification, centering equity in all aspects of the strategy. She also played a key role in making distributed solar a priority in Minnesota’s energy planning, leading to the first-ever modeling of distributed generation in an integrated resource plan at Sierra Club.
Patty is an experienced coalition builder and strategist, skilled in mobilizing grassroots support and crafting compelling messages that drive policy change. She is passionate about ensuring that the clean energy transition is equitable and benefits all communities.
