SEI and Nextpower Partner to Expand Solar Workforce Opportunities

Solar Energy International (SEI) has announced a new partnership with Nextpower (formerly known as Nextracker) that will significantly expand access to solar workforce training through SEI’s Empowerment Program.

The collaboration strengthens SEI’s mission to train a diverse global solar workforce and ensure that renewable energy education is both high-quality and accessible to learners from all backgrounds.

Nextpower’s investment directly supports the growth of SEI’s Empowerment Program scholarships, which are designed to eliminate common barriers that keep individuals from pursuing solar careers. These barriers often include financial constraints, geographic limitations, and the lack of mentorship or professional networks.

By enhancing scholarship availability, the partnership opens the door for more students to enroll in SEI courses and gain the skills needed to enter or advance in the clean energy sector.

The Empowerment Program extends far beyond tuition assistance. Participants gain access to individualized academic counseling, one-on-one mentorship, targeted networking opportunities, and structured pathways to job placement.

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with SEI because building the energy infrastructure of the future starts with investing in the people who power it,” said Kristan Kirsh, SVP of Global Marketing at Nextpower, in a statement. “With over 30 years of experience and more than 100,000 individuals trained globally, SEI has a proven track record of delivering results. Their Empowerment Program isn’t just about education—it’s about creating real pathways to careers in clean energy. This partnership supports our belief that a technically skilled and mission-driven workforce is essential to meeting the world’s growing demand for reliable, renewable power.”
