ChargePoint has announced an expansion of its partnership with Optimus Energy Solutions, a U.S.-based charge point operator, to grow Optimus’ network of public charging ports in the southeastern United States by more than 200 new ports.
ChargePoint will serve as the exclusive solutions provider, delivering hardware, software, and services to support the network, while Optimus will act as owner-operator of the sites.
New charging deployments will focus primarily on high-demand locations including quick service restaurants and retail centers, pairing convenient amenities with high charger utilization.
“Our partnership with Optimus Energy Solutions demonstrates the strength of combining ChargePoint’s industry-leading charging solutions with experienced operators who are committed to building and scaling charging networks,” said Rick Wilmer, CEO at ChargePoint, in a statement.
ChargePoint connects drivers to over 1.4 million public and private charging ports worldwide and has facilitated more than 21 billion electric miles since its founding in 2007.
Ben Pauluhn, President, Optimus Energy Solutions, added, “Leveraging ChargePoint’s technology and support allows us to meet the increasing demand for fast, reliable charging solutions. We are proud to expand our network and further support EV drivers across the Southeastern United States.”
