Arevon Energy has reached the 10-year operating mark at five California solar projects: Henrietta Solar, Kingbird A Solar, Kingbird B Solar, Nicolis Solar, and Stateline Solar.
Together they total 544 megawatts (MWdc) and have supplied electricity to California communities since 2016. The projects are in Kern, Kings, and San Bernardino counties.
Combined, the projects generate enough electricity to power more than 158,000 homes and avoid an estimated 492,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide each year. Arevon also says they conserve nearly 12 billion gallons of water annually compared with conventional generation.
The company reports more than $44 million in property tax payments over the life of the projects, and nearly 600 jobs were created during construction.
“For the past decade, these projects have supported California’s energy needs while delivering meaningful economic and environmental benefits to the communities where we operate,” said Justin Johnson, Chief Executive Officer at Arevon, in a statement. “We are proud of the role they play in California’s energy future and look forward to building on that foundation as we continue to develop critical energy infrastructure across the state.”
Arevon also marked 10 years of operations at its 344 MWdc Moapa Solar Project in Clark County, Nevada, with an event in September.
In California, the company has more than 4 gigawatts (GW) in operation, including recently completed projects such as Nighthawk, Eland, Peregrine, Vikings, and Condor, while its 250-MW Cormorant Energy Storage Project is under construction in Daly City.
