This webinar was recorded on October 22, 2026.
This webinar, presented by Intersolar & Energy Storage North America (IESNA) partner, Canary Media, tackles a deadline that is closer than most project teams realize: December 31, 2027, the place-in-service cutoff that can put two otherwise identical projects on opposite sides of the 48E/45Y tax credits. What separates them is less about paperwork than about field decisions made months before deadline pressure hits.Â
The discussion looks at what has changed since IRS Notice 2026-15 and what developers, EPCs, and installers should do now to protect both timelines and credit eligibility. Speakers include Heather Cooper, a partner at McDermott Will & Schulte focused on federal energy tax credits, along with industry voices from SolarEdge (Kleber Facchini), Anza Renewables (Ravi Manghani), and New Leaf Energy (Rohit Patil). Maria Virginia Olano, Canary Media’s chief of staff, hosts. The mix of tax counsel, equipment, sourcing, and project-development perspectives is aimed at connecting tax rules to real project decisions.
What you’ll take away:
- “Placed in service” has specific requirements. Teams should understand what it actually takes to qualify, since this is where many are caught off guard.
- Approved Vendor List decisions are irreversible. Those choices can ripple into project financing, so they deserve early scrutiny.
- The battery supply gap is a timeline risk. Shortages could threaten COD dates if teams don’t plan ahead.
- Early field decisions decide credit eligibility. Acting now, rather than near the deadline, is the core of protecting COD and the 48E/45Y credits.
