KSI Brings 15.8 MW of Community Solar Online in New York and Oregon

Kendall Sustainable Infrastructure (KSI) has started operating three new community solar projects totaling 15.8 megawatts (MWdc). The portfolio includes two projects in New York and one in Oregon, with individual projects ranging from 4.1 MWdc to 7.0 MWdc.

Each project was developed by a different independent developer. KSI contributed expertise and capital through a variety of collaborative arrangements, took full control at or near the start of construction, financed the build-out, and now operates the projects.

“All three new projects came on-line quickly and provide critically needed power to the burgeoning demand on the electric grid,” said KSI Co-Founder, John Chaimanis, in a statement. “The solar power provides energy savings to the off-takers, has funded well-paying jobs, and will contribute meaningfully to the tax base of the local communities they serve.”

The projects come online as electricity demand and prices continue to rise nationwide. KSI has now completed construction on 83 solar projects totaling 145 MWdc and has another 71 MWdc under active construction across eight states: New York, New Jersey, California, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Oregon, and Illinois.

Ken Lehman, KSI’s other Co-Founder, added, “KSI values long-standing partnerships with experienced developers, EPC contractors, O&M providers and other solar professionals. These repeat partnerships help foster strong communication, consistent execution, and a shared understanding of project expectations, supporting a smoother path from construction through commercial operation.”
